'Supernova' makes the connection between particles of silica in the dust of supernovas to the journey to the Earth’s crust, which is composed of 60% silica. The form of this Supernova artwork uses data from a real supernova called Cassiopeia B. It is a tactile representation of X-ray Data from the Chandra Observatory, created from an original 3D digital file provided by astronomer Nicolas Bonne.
